Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Approximately 90-100 ft. long bridge over Duncan Creek; Bridge Commission List: P-09-709 or P-09-708. Part of Jackson Bridge moved from Colburn in 1935. A flood in Duncan Creek in the spring of 1934 damaged two bridges in Irvine Park crossing that creek. They were replaced by bridges dismantled from other sites. The bridge on Irvine Road was originally used in the Town of Colburn. It was reconstructed in Irvine Park in 1935. The same year the Main Road Bridge in the park was moved from Grand Avenue in Chippewa Falls. The bridges are of local historical interest because they are part of the historic development of Irvine Park, a part which marked a turning point in the city's planning for recreational facilities for its residents. #650: (Dam (26-3); Museum (26-4); Pavilion (26-5) Bridges (26-9) Views (26, 6, 8, 10) Band Shell (26-11); Entrance (26-12) Station (26-13). This bridge and the Upper Bridge (Bear Den Bridge, AHI #0003256) were demolished in 2005 by the Wisconsin DOT (project #s 02-1285/CH and 02-1284/CH)). New concrete bridges were built in their places.
