Additional Information: | Three-sided east bay window; full-length open front porch with corinthian column supports; west side cross gable. Scalloped shingles in gable. 1996- "This one-and-one-half story, front gable house rises from what appears to be a stone foundation. The front of the house is dominated by an open, shed roof porch supported by four scrolled columns with smooth shafts. While the gable peak features fish-scale shingles, the remainder of the house is sided with asphalt shingles. The roof of the residence is capped with aluminum and includes a gabled dormer and what appears to be an original chimney. Windows largely include original, one-over-one light, double-hung sashes encased within wooden surrounds." - "La Crosse North/South Transportation Corridor", WisDOT ID #5991-04-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (1996). 2016 UPDATE - THE SIDING MATERIAL APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS WHEN LAST SURVEYED IN 1996, HOWEVER, IT IS DESCRIBED AS ASPHALT, BUT APPEARS TO BE HORIZONTAL BOARD SIDING. FISHSCALES IN GABLE FRONT ARE INTACT. HOWEVER, THE FRONT PORCH HAS BEEN ENCLOSED BETWEEN THE COLUMNS, SO SOME LOSS OF INTEGRITY. |
