| Additional Information: | Two-story multi-gable roofed house with one-story ell and partially enclosed full-length porch with porch supports with arched bracket capitals. Short two over two windows. Enclosed area of front porch appears to have been added. A scaled down vernacular descendent of the 19th century Greek Revival style, this narrow two-story gable roofed house has a one-story ell, short two over two windows and a porch supported by cut-out bracketed supports. Having maintained its 19th century character, this house is important as an example of the mid-19th century frame house in the north La Crosse neighborhood. 2016 UPDATE - HOUSE HAS BEEN MODIFIED WITH BEIGE VINYL SIDING, REPLACED WINDOWS IN ENCLOSED PORCH, BUT MUCH OF THE PORCH RAILING REMAINS INTACT. SOME LOSS OF INTEGRITY. |
