Additional Information: | The Felton House is significant to the architectural heritage of La Crosse as the best preserved example of the 20th century Revival styled architecture typicial of Merman and Skogstad during this period. Exhibiting the five bay facade of a Colonial Revival styled house, the Felton House covered by wide clapboards has six over six windows and a colonial end chimney; however, the sidelighted door covered by a gabled portico supported by paired square columns is a 20th century design. John Felton was district manager of Northern States Power at the time this house was built for him. |
