NOTES
Additional Information:Steep gabled red tile roof; north short octagonal tower with half timber articulation; large outside wall chimney with suggestion of short tower and shed roofed entrance with tile trimmed round arched entrance on the front sheet facing gable end. A representative of Merman and Skogstad Revival styled architecture mainly designed in the mid to late 1920s, the rather eclectic interpretation of the English Tudor cottage designed in 1924 for William Ott president of Segekle and Kohlhaus Manufacturing, is a significant example of a small house desin from the 20th century period Revival era. Will Ott was president of the Segelke & Kohlhaus Manufacturing Company in 1926. His father, also named Will Ott had been secretary and manager of the same company at the time of his death in 1907. The father's house at 1532 Madison Street is listed on the NRHP.
