NOTES
Additional Information:2017- "Constructed c.1949, this enameled steel Lustron house has a rectangular plan and rests on a poured concrete foundation. The walls are clad in surf blue enameled steel panels. The front-gable roof is covered in enameled steel tiles and features narrow eaves and a square enameled steel ridgeline chimney. The main (southeast) elevation has an inset porch that has been enclosed with wood-framed screen panels over a half wall clad in stone veneer. The original “zig-zag” porch support has been removed. The main entry door of the house appears to be a replacement and the enclosed porch features a modern glazed metal storm door. Other fenestration includes steel fixed-sash and casement windows and box bay on the side (southwest) elevation.

The original c.1949 Lustron two-car garage is located east of the house. The side-gable roof is covered in enameled steel tiles and the walls are clad in surf blue enameled steel tiles. The front (southwest) facade features two modern metal overhead retractable doors.

This house was produced by the Lustron Corporation which was developed in the post-World War II era in response to the housing shortage for returning GIs. Carl Strandlund formed the Lustron Corporation in 1947 and designed the durable, baked-on porcelain enamel finish to attract modern families who would not have to undertake conventional home maintenance and repair. Lustron homes were produced with efficient assembly-line techniques and boasted a care-free living experience for homeowners."
