NOTES
Additional Information:Two-story multi-gable roofed house with elaborate gable ornament, bargeboards, two-story rectangular bays with gable roofs on north and south sides, second story bracketed rectangular bay window over three-sided lower bay with bracket ornament on south bay, oriel window in front gable, stained glass, and screened porch with turned posts in angle of house. Shed-roofed two-story addition on north side. 1996- "Despite its Victorian detailing, this gabled, two story residence is a vernacular, cruciform plan. The West Avenue facade is embellished with a decorative kingpost and collar brace within a carved wooden bargeboard with brackets. A second-story polygonal bay and a partially-leaded glass window along the first level complete the west gable end wall. The south gable end wall features a first-story bay projection with canted corners and wooden trim. A rectangular bay window with a bracketed roof is located directly above, and a simple, carved wooden bargeboard outlines the gable peak. Fenestration throughout the dwelling is largely modern, as are the doors. Both the southwest corner and a south porch have a modern base and post supports, and the south porch no longer retains its balustrade." - "La Crosse North/South Transportation Corridor", WisDOT ID #5991-04-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (1996). 2024: House has replacement windows and altered porches.
