Additional Information: | Intersecting gable roofs; front gable roof projects over second story three-sided facade with large brackets at the gable ends; two-story pedimented gable roofed rectangular bay on east side; two-sided partially screened porch with cut-out balusters, spindles and turned post supports; pedimented gable roofed porte cochere; decorative shingles in band around house at second floor level; outside wall chimney; enclosed west porch; lower rear gable roofed extension; double leafed entrance door. Built in 1886-1887 by Henry Esperson and later owned by Henry Gund and Joseph B. Funke, this house is important as a well maintained example of later 19th century residential architecture in La Crosse influenced by the Queen Anne Revival style. Stone work: John Benson.
