NOTES
Additional Information:MODIFIED PALLADIAN WINDOWS IN GABLES, ODD 3-SIDED DORMER, RECESSED PORCH ON CNR OF 2ND FLR, 2 PORCHES ON 1ST FLR, GROUPED COLUMNS ON ALL. BISSELL WAS A LODI ENTREPENEUR AND MERCHANT BEFORE THE ADVENT OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY AND WAS A STATE SENATOR FROM 1897-1912. This excellent late Queen Anne style house was designed and built for Bissell by Lodi architect/contractor Carl C. Menes in 1897. The current owners have done a superb job of restoring the house, including rebuilding the original wraparound veranda that had been removed earlier. The interior of the house is also exceptional and in better than original condition. The large two-story frame and clapboard-clad carriage barn in the rear of the house was also built in 1897. "This classic Queen Anne home was built for William Bissell, state senator and one-time partner of Edward Seville. The wrap-around veranda was rebuilt in the early 1980s. The restored ridge cresting on the roof is typical Victorian architecture but is more ornate than the original. This home now houses the Victorian Treasure Bed and Breakfast."
