NOTES
Additional Information:City of Green Bay, Wisconsin - Architectural and Historical Intensive Survey Report Phase 1 - 2021 Front, original Art Moderne supermarket with a later but sympathetic addition to the rear. The rest good. Facade of the building is of brick with four original glass block windows defining the original portion of the building. Two sailor course brick beltcourses, one serving as the window lintels and one serving as the building cornice are set flush with the main walls. The later addition to the rear continues this treatment but lacks any window openings. The Art Moderne stone front is largely intact with large plate glass display windows facing on Walnut St. and large ceramic tiles below. The entrance door in the southwest corner of the building is located in the first of a two story triangular tower which dominates the entrance. This tower is set into the corner and the entire face of the tower is canted. A curved, flat roof marquee is placed over the entrance door. The whole of this facade is covered with Art Moderne style streamlined lines accenting cornice lines and architectural elements.
