NOTES
Additional Information:Segmental arched windows; four over four windows; wooden gable roofed superstructure; front concrete block addition; rear stone addition; alteration of the original structure has occurred; stone smoke chimney at rear; square corner tower with hip roof.

Originally established by Jacob Leinenkugel and John Miller as the Spring Brewery in 1867, the rather plain stone structure built to replace the earlier structures, although somewhat altered, retains the original malt tower and the four over four long windows with slightly projecting arched window heads suggestive of Italianate influence.

Constructed before 1883 to replace the earlier frame brewery structures, the stone Leinenkugel Brewing company complex is the best preserved of the structures associated with 19th century industry in Chippewa Falls.

Established in 1867, the Jacob Leinenkugel Company is the longest continuously operating industry in Chippewa Falls. This malt house, part of the historic development of the brewery, was built sometime prior to 1883. The brewery was known as Leinenkugel and Miller's Spring Brewery at the time this building was constructed. Subsequent company names include Leinenkugel's Spring Brewery and Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company.

Constructed before 1883 to replace the earlier frame brewing structures, the stone Leinenkugel Brewing Company complex is the best preserved of the structures associated with 19th century industry in Chippewa Falls.

RELATED BUILDINGS: Brew House (25/22, 25), Stable (25/23), Spring House (41/14).

2021 - The Malt House (AHI 38911) is a three-story Astylistic Utilitarian building constructed in 1882. It is connected via second-story walkway to the Brew House to the north. This building is rectangular in plan, constructed of an unspecified type of cut stone, laid in roughly even courses. The most prominent feature of the building is the square, hipped-roof tower at the northwest corner of the building. Windows throughout are four-over-four double hung beneath segmental arched brick surrounds and appear to be original.
