Additional Information: | This Italianate house, built in 1873, was originally owned by Ferdinand Stamm, a hardware and tinware merchant. (A, B). 1973: "In the Walker's Point area are quite a number of Italianate houses, most of them dating back to the 1870s. This is one of the better-preserved examples, still possessing its original porch, roof brackets, and the like. Its first owner was a Prussian-born hardware and tinware merchant. The home has received a first priority rating from those involved in the Walker's Point undertaken in September 1973 with the sponsorship of the Department of City Development, Milwaukee. Alterations and Additions (as of 1973): According to the information gathered by Virginia A. Palmer, there are no building permits on file for this residence. The exterior has been painted pink in fairly recent years." |
