This house exhibits an overhanging low hipped roof and incorporates features of both Italianate design and Eastlake style. The stucco garage was added about 1920.

2005-This house was previously surveyed in 1991 and no visible changes have been made to the exterior since that date. The 1977 survey card gives a circa date of 1856 (the assessor simply says 1900) and the historic name of Galpin. Per city directories, the earliest identifiable owner of the home was Michael Gochnauer, who worked at the Appleton Sewer Pipe Works.
