Additional Information: | 2024: This Astylistic Utilitarian building was constructed in 1914. The building is comprised of two masses, the first located closer to Lawe Street and consisting of a two-story rectangular structure with an at-grade foundation and a slanting shed roof. Extending to the east is a long, two-story gable-roofed building, with a one-story shed-roof projection along the northern elevation. The entire structure is constructed of wooden beams and has been clad in vinyl siding. Exposed rafter beams have been boxed in, and the brick chimney on the gable-roofed portion has been cut down to the level of the roofline. Pedestrian entrances, consisting of modern paneled doors in plain surrounds, are located on the north, east, and west elevations, and an overhead garage door is located on the east elevation as well. Fenestration throughout is irregularly spaced, consisting of multi-paned double-hung vinyl replacements. It is apparent that some window openings have been removed or replaced with smaller sashes, and the building displays no other decorative elements. Constructed north of the railroad tracks, this property served as a warehouse for much of its history. |
