This property is locally significant under Criterion C as a reasonably well-preserved example of a large Neo-Classical Revival style public school building with a particularly rich decorative program of applied decorative architectural elements. This handsomely articulated building has survived with its detailing intact, except for the replacement of the fenestration, to make it one of Wisconsin's largest and most monumental Neo-Classical Revival public school buildings. 2024: Resurveyed
