Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property named '2-30 S Barstow St'. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 1997-TO BE DEMOLISHED. This three story brick commercial building is located on Eau Claire's main business thoroughfare (Barstow Street) and on the south bank of the Eau Claire River. The structure features a metal entablature "supported" by pilasters and large window openings which are presently covered. Egg and dart molding decorates the tops of the pilasters. A side entrance and an altered storefront are visible on the ground floor. In 1908 the Eau Claire Gas and Light Co. was located on the building's first floor. Eugene M. Rogers, dentist, was on the second floor, and Allen's Business College on the third floor (B). In 1931 Northern States Power Company was the occupant (C). 2006- Building offered for redevelopment.
