NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Located just north of the Eau Claire River on Dewey Street, the Huebsch Linen and Industrial Service is a three story brick structure rectangular in plan. The large bays which once provided additional interior light have been enclosed and various additions have been made. A simple brickwork pattern decorates the cornice line. An early photo is included in the 1955 publication (A). The Huebsch Company (its predecessor was the City Steam Laundry, located on Gray and Graham Avenue (B)) was incorporated by John and Joseph Huebsch (John Huebsch's residence is at 319 Earl Street 25/35) in 1903 (A). In 1910 the building was occupied by C. Gotzian and Company, shoe manufacturers. Two years later the building was vacant and in 1914 the Huebsch Company was listed. A 2018 survey found the building to be demolished
