Additional Information: | The freight depot located on the southern bank of the Eau Claire River, is a long retangular frame structure capped by a gable roof. Asphalt siding covers the original wall surface. Passenger depot was constructed in 1890, so it seems likely that the freight depot was also erected at that time. Originally this freight depot served the Wisconsin Central Railroad which had entered Eau Claire in 1890. The passenger depot was south of this building (see 119 S. Dewey St., 23/24). The Wisconsin Central was absorbed by the Soo Line in 1909 (B). |
