| Additional Information: | TO BE DEMOLISHED. The former Madison House is a two story brick veneered structure, distinguished by brickwork patterns at the cornice line and segmental arch openings emphasized by hood molds. A new brick facade is apparent over the eastern portion of the structure. Apartments are presently located in the building. Located on a major thoroughfare in the area north of the Eau Claire River, the former Madison House was one of several small hotels that once served Eau Claire. According to the 1889 map, there were offices on the building's second floor and by 1897 the structure was vacant. |
