Additional Information: | A large gambrel roofed barn with twin cupolas. The structure is in poor condition. This barn, today part of a residential district, was originally used by the Dells Lumber Company which was organized in 1879. In 1889 the company purchased the property of the Pioneer Lumber Company, located on the west bank of the Chippewa River, just north of the Madison Street Bridge. Between 1981 and 1987, the veranda roof was removed and the a gable roofed enclosed entry placed over the door. 1997-gambrel barn converted to a house, alterations include overhead garage doors, concrete block, and altered windows. |
