NOTES
Additional Information:The former Frawley residence is located facing Randall Park at the southwest corner of Niagara Street and Third Avenue. The two story brick dwelling features segmental arch windows, bay windows, bracketed eaves, and a wrap veranda. An early photo shows an oversized tower dominating the structure which was once also accented by lacy bargeboards and decorative balustrades. William F. Frawley, a former mayor and prominent lawyer of Eau Claire, lived at this address from 1905 until his death in 1941. Frawley, born in southern Wisconsin in 1865, first entered the practice of law in partnership with his brother, T.F. Frawley (1103 S. Barstow, 29/2). He was first elected mayor of Eau Claire in 1897 and re-elected in 1904 and in 1908, being the last mayor to serve under the aldermanic system of government. Frawley was also involved in the Democratic Party and had interests in banking and in farming.
