THIS THREE AND A HALF-STORY SHCOOL WAS CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN 1903 TO 1905. (SEE BIB. REF. E, 2). THE BUILDING FEATURES AN IRREGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A CONCRETE EXTERIOR, A STONE TRIM, AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED HIP ROOF. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTORY CARD DESCRIBING THIS SCHOOL, THE EXTERIOR WALLS ARE MADE OF COURSED ASHLAR. HIP ROOFED DORMERS INTERSECT WITH THE MAIN ROOF IN THE ATTIC STORY. CENTERED ON THE FACADE IS A THREE AND A HALF-STORY GABLED BAY, WITH CORNICE RETURNS AND A DENTIL TRIM IN THE OPEN GABLED END. ROUND ARCHED OPENINGS DISTINGUISH BOTH THE MAIN ENTRANCE AND AN ATTIC STORY WINDOW. THERE IS A WEIGHTINESS TO THE WALL MATERIALS, A RICHARDSONIAN ROMANESQUE CHARACTERISTIC. THIS STRUCTURE IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

THIS SCHOOL WAS DESIGNED BY ARCHITECT F. S. ALLEN. (SEE BIB. REF. 1). THE BUILDERS OF THIS PROJECT INCLUDED CHARLES CURTIS, HERMAN ENZENROTH AND S. JENKIN. (SEE BIB. REF. 2).

HISTORICALLY KNOWN AS THE MINERAL POINT HIGH SCHOOL, THIS STRUCTURE HAS BEEN IN USE AS A SCHOOL FROM 1905 TO THE PRESENT DAY. (SEE BIB. REF. E, F). THE BUILDING IS CURRENTLY KNOWN AS THE MINERAL POINT MIDDLE SCHOOL.
