Additional Information: | This two story house retains features of the Greek Revival and Federal styles. Alexander Galbraith began importing Clydesdale horses from Scotland in 1880. Galbraith served as secretary and later as president of the American Clydesdale Association. The 1908 History of Rock County states that the Galbraith's "...were probably the largest importers in the United States." House was moved 90 degrees and "restored" by Mr. Gullet. Land surrounded the house was the site of Janesville's original golf course. House was owned by Alexander Galbraith after Ruger. |
