Additional Information: | This frame vernacular house was built for Jacob Risberg, probably around 1900. Risberg immigrated to the area from Sweden in 1889 and was either the father or the uncle of Oscar Risberg. Their houses are nearly identical. In 1890, Jacob Risberg hauled lumber for the construction of the first schoolhouse in the area, and built a wood shed for the school. In 1899, he helped pay for firefighting in the Town of McKinley, and in 1901 filled out a term as a Town Supervisor. The house retains good integrity, but is not architecturally significant. |
