NOTES
Additional Information:Date of construction is pre-1884. This two-story gabled ell frame building is clad with aluminum siding and split rock. The wood porch deck was removed and replaced with concrete stairs and the wood porch supports were replaced by iron posts. The installation of replacement windows and siding and split rock over the original clapboard, and modifications to the front porch have compromised the appearance of the building. The building was constructed just before 1884 by Alphonse Payant as a tavern and dance hall. The tavern was subsequently sold to John Buschberger who converted the dance hall into a hotel and renamed the establishment the Belongia Hotel. The building currently houses the Wooden Shoe tavern and residential space on the upper floor.
