Additional Information:ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: ALTHOUGH EXTENSIVELY ALTERED, THE HILDEBRAND HOUSE REMAINS INTERESTING AS AN EXAMPLE OF GREEK REVIVAL ARCHITECTURE, HERE EXECUTED IN BRICK. THE ENTRANCE WAS ORIGINALLY CENTRALLY LOCATED ON THE NORTH ELEVATION, HOWEVER, THE MAIN ENTRANCE IS NOW FROM THE SOUTH. THE CORNICE IS MARKED BY A BAND OF BRICKS DESIGNED TO SUGGEST DENTILS. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: GEORGE HILDEBRAND, A NATIVE OF GERMANY, EMIGRATED TO AMERICA IN 1856 AND SETTLED IN WAUKESHA. TWO YEARS LATER, HE MOVED TO BOSCOBEL AND ENTERED THE EMPLOY OF DWIGHT PARKER. HE EVENTUALLY BECAME PARKER'S PARTNER IN A MERCANTILE BUSINESS. (A) THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED PRE 1868. THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY IS: PT.L4, L5 & 6 B127 O.P
