Additional Information: | Two story rectangular residence covered in asbestos shingle. Flat roof. Porch extends the length of the facade. Little architectural detail. Originally this building was part of the Vine/Reservoir Historic District (listed: 8/2/84). Juanita T. Bell and her husband Bennette B. Bell resided here in 1970. Mrs. Bell was known for her secretarial roles in the Milwaukee NAACP, such as corresponding secretary on the Executive Board in 1967, Executive Committee member in 1970, and assistant secretary on the Executive Board from 1970-1972. Bennette Bell was also involved in civil rights activism, and participated in organizations like the North Central YMCA. The husband and wife duo owned and operated Bell's Ash and Rubble Removal out of this home. |
