A "USONIAN" HOME DESIGNED BY INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED ARCHITECT, FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT. SEE FINAL REPORT FOR A DISCUSSION OF WRIGHT AND THIS RESIDENCE. THIS ONE STORY BUILDING HAS AN IRREGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION, A FLAT ROOF SHAPE, AND A ROUGH-CUT NARROW-COURSED LIMESTONE EXTERIOR. IN 1964, THERE WAS AN ADDITION MADE TO THE RESIDENCE BY ARCHITECT JOHN HOWE. (A) THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN THE YEARS 1951 AND 1953. THE STRUCTURE WAS FOUND TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

ARCHITECUTRAL STATEMENT: COMPARABLE RESIDENCES IN WISCONSIN DESIGNED BY WRIGHT WERE LISTED BY ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN RICHARD W.E. PERRIN. THEY ARE THE SMITH HOUSE IN JEFFERSON AND THE ARNOLD HOUSE IN COLUMBUS. (C). THE KINNEY HOUSE IS FURTHER DESCRIBED (INCLUDING THE INTERIOR) IN A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE AVAILABLE AT THE AREA RESEARCH CENTER, UW-PLATTEVILLE. (B).
