Additional Information: | THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS ERECTED AS PART OF THE PLATTEVILLE NORMAL SCHOOL'S MODEL FARM DURING THE 1920S. (SEE BIB. NOTE 1) IN 1916, 23 ACRES WERE PURCHASED TO BE USED AS A SCHOOL FARM. IN 1926, THE BOYLE (JONES) FARM OF 102 ACRES WAS ADDED, GIVING THE SCHOOL A FARM OF 125 ACRES. (SEE BIB. NOTE 2) THE PIONEER PRAIRIE FARM HAS LABORATORIES FOR ANIMAL, CROP AND SOIL EXPERIMENTATION. NEW AND MODERN LABORATORIES FOR BEEF, SWINE AND DAIRY PRODUCTION ARE LOCATED AT THE FARM. (SEE BIB.
