THESE DORMERS ARE EMBELLISHED WITH SHINGLES AND FRIEZE BOARDS. THE GABLED DORMER PROJECTS OVER A THREE-SIDED ENTRANCE BAY. BRICK LINTELS, BRACKETS DEOCRATING THE CHAMFERED CORNERS AND A FULL LENGTH FRONT PORCH SUPPORTED BY SQUARE GROOVED POSTS ACCENT THE HOUSE.

THE HOUSE WAS BUILT FOR JOHN W. BURRIS IN 1906-1907. THIS DWELLING IS LOCATED WITHIN THE WEST MAIN STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT AND IT IS STILL HIGHLY INTACT AND HAS A DESIGN THAT IS PARTLY QUEEN ANNE STYLE IN THE DETAILS AND PART VERNACULAR PERIOD REVIVAL STYLE AS WELL..

ARCHITECUTRAL SIGNIFICANCE:

THIS STRUCTURE IS SIMILAR IN STYLE TO GT 35-14. IT IS IMPORTANT AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY MOVE AWAY FROM HISTORIC ORNAMENTATION OF ARCHITECTURE.
