Additional Information: | This 1 1/2 story upright and wing has asbestos shingle exterior fabric. Windows are 2/2 and the cornice is boxed. The roof is gabled with 2 front wall gable dormers. There is a plain frieze under the eave. Window frames are wood and have an entablsture. Therre is a side box bay window and rear one story addition. A picture window is in front. An enclosed porch with shed roof is on the wing. Alterations detract from the integrity of this residence to the point that it has no architectural significance. The house was built in 1873 by Thomas Phillips. His son Robert and wife lived here until 12973. The railroad is in the front yard. When the railroad was being built workers were lodged here. Robert was a logger and mill worker and disabled WW I Veteran. Although interesting because it is known to have been part of the development of the railroad this house did not plan a significant part in the development of the railroad or any other event. It has no historical significance. |
