A LARGE, GABLED SCHOOL THAT WAS ONE OF THE TWO FIRST UNION FREE HIGH SCHOOLS IN IOWA COUNTY. IT IS NOW THE OLDEST PUBLIC SCHOOL IN CONTINUOUS OPERATION IN THE STATE. THE SOUTH WING, DESIGNED BY F. Z. HICKS, WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1858; THE REST OF THE BUILDING WAS BUILT IN 1876. |
