NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This two story house retains features of the Italianate style. Alterations to the exterior of the house since construction include the removal of the towet cap, roof cresting, balusters on the second story of the porch, and a yard fence. Built in the mid to late 1860s for Dr. Samuel S. Judd. a native of Connecticut, who settled in Janesville in 1864. He was a physician and served on the city council. The house was subsequently owned by John Thoroughgood, a cigar manufacturer.
