This Queen Anne styled retail building is in fair condition, with a rectangular shaped plan configuration and a brick and stone foundation. Brick, concrete, cararra glass, and metal cover the exterior walls, while stone, concrete, wood and metal make up the trim material. The storefront has been altered. Historical Background: This building, known historically as the Buell's Block [A], was constructed in 1895 and it originally housed only the H. C. Truesdell Clothing Store. Mr. Truesdell was an active businessmam in Berlin and he served as an alderman, mayor, school board member and also a concressional delegate to several conventions. Around 1900, Mr. Truesdell moved and the building was occupied by three separate businesses, the Berlin State Bank, a grocery store and a saloon.
