NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The Y.M.C.A., built in about 1925, in five stories of brick, is Janesville's only example of the Renaissance Revival style. Characteristic of the style is the flat roof, rusticated ground floor, belt courses, enriched cornice, recessed and arcaded porch with balustarde, symmetrical facades, and a variety of window treatments. An addition to the south (built c. 1968) partially detracts from the architectural integrity of the building.
