Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2014: The Samuel Messerschmidt House was constructed c.1930 at 5723 STH 51 in the town of Burke, and was moved to its present location c.2000. It is a two-and-one-half-story building with a granite veneer exterior, asphalt-shingled side gable roof, and Tudor Revival-style details. The primary (east) facade features an off-center stone chimney, wide shed dormer, and projecting sweeping gable entry bay with a round arch door and window. First-story windows are six-over-one sashes in groups of two and three. The front dormer contains a single and pair of six-over-one sashes. A matching c.1940 stone veneer barn was not moved along with house. 2020: Resurveyed - appearance unchanged 2022: No visible changes.
