NOTES
Additional Information:#650: New Two Car Garage. Historical Background Lester and Amanda Schreiber had Jerry LeMere and Henry Reinhart build this house for themselves about 1924. Lester Schreiber designed the house. Historical Significance This house is locally significant as the home of a promionent business family in Fish Creek. Architectural Description This building is an excellent example of an owner-designed side gable bungalow with the roof overhanging the front porch. The asphalt clad roof with gable roof dormer has overhanging eaves with triangular brackets. The walls are clapboard on the first story, single on the second story. The porch posts are typical of bungalow and consists of abbreviated battered columnsn on thick stone posts. The house rests on a stone foundation. While from the exterior the house appears to be a standard bungalow, on the interior it is surprisingly open. This is particularly true on the second floor, where spacious, airy bedrooms circle the open staircase landing. Architectural Significance The Schreiber house is locally significant as the home of a prominent business family in Fish Creek. It is an excellent example of a owner-designed bungalow.
