NOTES
Additional Information:This two story commercial building features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a stucco foundation, a cream brick exterior, a metal trim and a ceramic tiled flat roof. Three oriel windows, two of which are on the side elevation, distinguish the second story. Also on the second story are round and segmentally arched windows, each with a stone sill and a brick lintel. The first story has a recessed storefront and tie rod anchors. The building, which is in good condition, is architecturally significant in that it represents a type, period, or method of construction. Historical Statement: J. T. Wright, who had established a "hide and finding" business in 1854, built this structure in 1875 to replace a building that burned. This buildng housed the retail store for Wright's hides and soaps, products that were manufacutred in two facory buildings on Afton Road. The association with commerce makes the J. T. Wright Hides and Findings building historically significant.
