| Additional Information: | "David Clark Everest was appointed general manager of Marathon Paper Mills in 1909. In his 46-year career with the company, he helped develop the area's paper industry and establish other major local industries. The Schofield school district is named after him. His family home, a three-story English-Spanish Baroque "estate," occupies a sloping hillside overlooking Wausau. The house features barrel tile roof, carved sandstone doorway with crest, and gargoyles decorating the west wing."
