NOTES
Additional Information:THE ORGANIZATIONAL PAPERS FOR EMPLOYERS MUTUAL LIABILITY (WAUSAU INSURANCE COMPANIES) WERE SIGNED ON 9/1/1911.

"When built, this house was Queen Anne with conical tower. A 1920s remodeling produced the stuccoed half-timbered look of Tudor Revival. Attorney Brown, the "Sage of Wausau," interested himself in philosophy, poetry, horticulture and politics, running twice for the U.S. Senate. He and others signed papers here organizing Employers Mutual Liability Insurance Co. of Wisconsin, now Wausau Insurance Companies." City in the Pinery, A Guide to Wausau's Historic Architecture, The City of Wausau, 1984.
