Additional Information: | This one story commercial vernacular building is constructed of bricks that are painted. The building features a plain cornice above several rows of brick corbelling. Some decorative cresting sits atop of the building. Some original storefront featues are extant, including columns, apron, and recessed entrance. The upper show windows and the transom are filled in with wood siding. This building has some architectural interest as a simple example of the commercial vernacular style of architecture. This was the location of the William Roloff Meat Market at the turn of the century. It was the Peter Remer Meat Market between 1903-1928. It was the M. Weiss Meat Market between 1930-1944. This building has some historical interest because it housed several meat markets during the historic period. |
