| Additional Information: | Photo code #2: 74FD-34/5,6 This two story brick house has a complex hip and gable roof. The projecting gables are shingled. Openings are largely sashes with single lights or four lights. They are decorated with segmental arches. The original veranda has been recently replaced with one with plain columns and a plain balustrade. This house is architecturally significant and potentialldy individually eoligible for the National Register as a good example of the Queen Anne style. It exhibits fine craftsmanship in the brick construciton, and itws overall form and massing is typical of the style. While not an elaborately decorated house, it is a good example of a simple variatio fo the style. This house was probably built for Herman hass, a brick manufacturer, around 1890. This house is not historically significant. |
