Additional Information: | Photo code #2: 74FD-33/15,16. This two and one half story unusual Queen Anne house features a steeply pitched gable roof with projecting gable ends. Elaborately hooded windows decorate the upper stories of the building. Vinyl clapboard siding coveres the building and a stucco and wood half timber exterior seen on the building 15 years earlier. It is unclear if this covering was the original exterior of the house, or if it was added at a latyer date. The front porch has a limestone foundation and balustrade supporting Ionic columns. This house is a good example of an unusual variation of the Queen Anne style. This house was the home of David Molitor, a druggist, between 1901 and 1907. It was the home of Ernest and Katherine Smith between 1917 and 1942. Ernest Smith was a physician. Initial research indicates that the occupants of this house are not historically significant. |
