"The Mazomanie Town Hall was built to house firefighting equipment on the first floor and township office space on the second floor. Constructed entirely of local stone, the north wall is of ashlar stone block, the west and south walls of uncut fieldstone. Built in the cays of horse- and hand-drawn firefighting equipment, it was never equipped with plumbing of central heating. In spite of this lack of amenities, it was used as the Mazomanie Town Hall continuously until 1979. It was then donated to the village and has since been used by the Mazomanie Historical Society as a research center. Both interior and exterior are much as they appeared in 1878. It was placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1980." Mazomanie Downtown Historic District, Mazomanie Historical Society, 1993.
