Additional Information: | 1995- "Frame, vernacular farmhouse with vinyl or aluminum siding, ca. 1880, two-story, T-plan with porch across front of side gable, stone foundation, two-over-two windows with large, transomed single-pane window on first floor. The barns have been altered. None of the owners of this house are mentioned in the Grant County histories. The plat maps show J. Juneman as the owner in 1877 and George Johns in 1895 and 1903. From before 1918 to the present, it has been owned by the Deiter family. In 1918 August Deiter was a farmer and breeder of Scotch Shorthorn cattle and Barred Plymouth Rock Hens. None of the owners are known to have been of historic significance. Although the house retains more historic integrity than most in the Town of Paris, it has been resided and the porch altered. The similar house just east of it [55782] is more intact." -"USH 151, Dickeyville to Belmont", WisDOT# 1209-02-00, Prepared by Katherine Hundt Rankin (Preservation Consultant) for Rust Environment & Infrastructure Inc, 1995. |
