This one and a half-story astylistic utilitarian ranger station features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a concrete foundation, an unspecified stone exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Dormers intersect with the main roof in the attic story. Three over one windows are also part of the architectural design, as are a stone porch and a fireplace (unusual). The finished interior includes painted plaster, concrete floors in the garage basement, asphalt tile floors in the office, and maple floors on the second story. The building is in good condition. The Nekoosa Ranger Station has functioned since the its 1937 date of construction as a ranger station, a garage, a work shop, a storage facility, and sleeping quarters for transient personnel.
