Additional Information: | Intact example of the late Queen Anne period featuring a number of very interesting features. All gable ends have finials. Gables ends are delineated by a heavy wooden entablature running across the larger gable end at its vertical midpoint. The entablature is supported by simple wooden brackets. A large oval window with spikes at the four compass points highlights the front gable end. A band of four windows, inset slightly, is found on each gable end below the entablature mentioned above. Corner bay windows. The gable ends overhang the second floor and are supported by brackets in groups of three. All corners on the main block are canted with carved brackets. A wooden beltcourse separates the first from the second floor. The front porch features a full pedimented gable. The Lueps house is one of the finest examples of late Queen Anne architecture in the city. It is considered significant as an example of its style. |
