Additional Information:THIS TWO AND A HALF-STORY SCHOOL FEATURES A CROSS-SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A BRICK EXTERIOR AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED, GABLE ROOF. CENTERED ON THE ROOF TOP IS A DETAILED CUPOLA, LOCATED AT THE POINT AT WHICH EACH GABLE INTERSECTS. EAVE RETURNS AND CORNICE BOARDS EMBELLISH THE OPEN GABLE ENDS. PROMINENT STONE LINTELS AND SILLS APPEAR ON MOST OF THE WINDOWS. ENZENROTH AND ELLERY BUILT THIS STRUCTURE IN 1904. (SEE BIB. REF. E). IT IS PRESENTLY IN GOOD CONDITION.

THIS BUILDING IS KNOWN HISTORICALLY AS THE ST. MARY'S GERMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL. (SEE BIB. REF. G). ITS DEVELOPMENT HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRESENCE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN MINERAL POINT. (SEE BIB. REF. E). THIS SCHOOL FUNCTIONED FROM 1904 TO 1962. (SEE BIB. REF. E). This building included living quarters for the nuns. In 1935, the parish schools of St. Mary's and St. Paul were united in this building.
