NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' titled "Lincoln Boulevard Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office.

This is a two story brick house with wide eves and a jerkinheaed roof on the gable ends. The house also includes a low pitched first story gable roof for a sun room/main entry projecting wing with porte cochere. Paired and grouped windows add to the compositions horizontality. First floor windows include leaded glass. This is the most elaborate of Prairie style compositions in the district.

The house was built for Frank J. and Therese Kerscher. The Frank J. Kerscher Co. manufactured “cheese factory equipment, metal roofing, eaves trough, wire hangers, and sheet metal”. Although not verified, it seems probable that the metal tile roof on the house was a Kerscher company product. Frank and Theresa's son, Vincent, also later worked for the company. After his marriage, Vincent lived at 1011 Lincoln Boulevard (AHI #58175).
