Additional Information:This fine example of the Georgian Revival style is one of the best examples of this style in the City. The home is of red brick and features a balustraded entry hood, brick patterned quoins and a side gabled slate roof with three round roofed dormers on both front and rear. A heavy wooden entablature also severs a lintels for the second floor front and rear facades. The house is set back from the street and approached by a circular drive.

Elias Gunnell was the first President of the Manitowoc Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, which became the Manitowoc Company. As an inventor, he also developed several other projectsmanufactured by the Gunnell Machinery Company also founded by Gunnell, West and the other founders of the Manitowoc Company. Gunnell eventually left Manit0owoc Shipbuilding in 1920, coincidentally, the year his house overlooking shipyard was built.
